Location: Oshawa

Number of positions: 1 Barber & 1 Stylist

Work Hours:  Dynamic — discussed and agreed upon

Pay: Negotiable on skills and experience

Number of Years of Previous Experience Required: None (but all experience is an asset)

Education Required: Hairdressing Diploma (finished or in-progress with registered apprenticeship)

* Employer is receptive to hiring and/or registering apprentices

Certificates Required: Hairdressing Diploma (finished or in-progress with registered apprenticeship)

Start Date: Immediately

Number of Years of Previous Experience Required: 1+

Main Responsibilities:

·        Staying up-to-date on the most current hair styles and trends for men, women and children and demonstrating ability through great cuts

·        Making sound recommendations to clients about which styles will best suit their facial structure and hair types

·        Building ongoing relationships with clients and staying “on top” of their customer service game.

·        Making clients feel welcome and comfortable, which is especially important when it comes to working with young children

·        Keeping areas properly organized and sanitized

·        Following all Covid-19 rules while mandated

Job Requirements:

·        Must be at least 18 years of age and have or be nearing the end of a hairdressing diploma course

·        (Barbering candidates must have existing straight blade skills)

·        Have a secondary school diploma or equivalency

·        Be literate in basic conversation and numeracy; have a friendly and engaging personality and be able to describe steps during hair-cuts, etc., so that clients feel engaged, excited, and at times, empowered

·        Outgoing and hardworking — strong work ethic
