4th Year and Higher Year Electricians – 309A
Location: Whitby
Number of positions: 2
Work Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs./wk.)
*Ordinary hours are 6 am – 3 pm – Lots of overtime right now – offers and rotations available at ‘time-and-a-half’ (1.5x pay)
Pay: $34/hr. (Licensed)
*Apprentices start pay dependent on skills experience
Start Date: Immediately
Own Transportation Required? : No but have to be punctual
Education / Certificates Required: Industry Standard Requirements
Main Responsibilities:
· Commercial and industrial electrical work, mostly in active, large paper mill – job sites generally in Whitby (to Mississauga)
· Preparing, assembling, installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices and related equipment in all types of buildings and other structures – with home base in paper mill
· Devising viable plans for electrical installations
· Laying conduit in walls, temporary partitions, and other concealed areas
· Inspecting and maintaining existing electrical systems
· Ensuring that electrical system in buildings (both residential and industrial) comply with local electrical codes and safety standards
· Provide preliminary planning, sketches, and estimates for installation, repair, upgrade, and maintenance of electrical systems
· Training and supervising new hires on the intricacies of electrical installation standards
· Interpreting and reading blueprints and electrical drawings
Job Requirements:
· Industrial experience huge asset but not required
· Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment
· Understanding of how different electrical systems work
· Time management and organization skills
· Knowledge of mathematics and basic calculations
· Communication skills, both verbal and written
· Ability to continuously learn about trends in the electrical industry
· Leadership and teamwork; creativity
