Kitchen Helper/Cook’s Assistant

Location: Whitby

Number of positions: 1

Work Hours: 30 hrs./wk.;

Flexible hours, 4-8 hour shifts, various days and times

Pay: $15/hr.

Start Date:  Immediately

Main Responsibilities:

·        Cleaning work area; sanitization and hygiene — mops floors at end of each shift

·        Use of wide variety of kitchen and food prep. tools

·        Assisting in the preparation of authentic Indian dishes; chopping, processing, spicing, moving, storing, mixing, and possibly packing of menu items

·        Rotating and telling cook to reorder depleting supplies and ingredients

* Taking and processing of food orders via phone, virtual forums and in-person visits; relaying order details to cook and kitchen staff, if role develops

Job Requirements:

·        Standard numeracy and literacy to follow recipes or instructions in kitchen

·        Interest in Indian cuisine an asset

·        Strong work ethic

Number of Years of Previous Experience Required: 1 + experienced at Indian cooking
