Main Responsibilities:

– Shop Floor Assistant and / or Volunteer Clinical Placement #1 (If enrolled for the Tattoo Artist Apprenticeship Program)
– For day-day operations, the Shop Floor Assistant reports to the: Tattoo Assistant. If they are not available or busy with a customer, all communications are to be done with the Front Desk Supervisor
– For urgent matters (including emergency contacting, illness, paychecks, or requesting time off): The shop assistant reports to the Operations Manager
– Maintaining a safe/clean studio for staff & customers and also adhering to the guidelines set out by the public health department prior to leaving the workplace.
– Correctly, efficiently complete tasks as directed on the WEEKLY ASSISTANT CHECKLIST/TIMESHEET
– Accurately prepare substrates and/or other tasks requested for the Marketing Supervisor. This may include loading, feeding or placing materials into the machine for cutting, painting, laminating, vinyl, general assembly, cleaning marketing or signage substrates, installing and maintaining marketing collateral
– Lubricate, Screw, clip, glue, bond, or otherwise assemble parts and components to form final products
– Complete the general maintenance and inspections of the studio such as sanding, staining, painting, and performing minor repairs.
– Correctly and efficiently complete and maintain tasks as directed on the DAILY TATTOO ASSISTANT CHECKLIST/TIMESHEET
– Assisting with other additional operations of the company in a time-efficient manner
– Notify the operations manager of major health and safety or maintenance issues
– Return defective products to suppliers for repair or recycling

Job Requirements:
– Job consists of repetitive tasks
– Physically demanding, requires manual dexterity, attention to detail; excellent hand-eye coordination; requires standing for extended – Periods of time
– Requires multitasking
– Overtime is required annually every September for the company year-end inventory
– This job requires one’s ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
– An up to date Criminal Reference Check (expires every 9 months)
– Fluency in English
– Canadian Citizenship
– Additional training will be provided on the job to bolster the current experience.
