One of the most exciting parts of growth in the Durham Region is the tourism sector!
There are many major tourism developments coming soon:
Durham Live, an upcoming entertainment and tourism district in Pickering, will bring exciting services and facilities to the region including a convention centre, film studios, an amphitheatre, a casino, an indoor water park, five-star boutiques, hotels and an office tower.
In the summer of 2018, Groupe Nordik held a groundbreaking ceremony for its third Nordik Spa-Nature in Whitby. The spa features a multi-sensory relaxation and healing centre, covering a 385,423-square-foot area. Nordik Spa-Nature will be able to welcome up to 1,100 visitors.
The Whitby Entertainment Centrum is now home to the Whitby Playdium which features a wide variety of interactive experiences, video games, climbing walls, bowling, rope courses and two-level laser tag.
