The Ontario government is making it easier and faster for laid-off workers to take advantage of the Second Career program – providing eligible individuals access to skills-training and financial support for in-demand positions in today’s Labour Market.
Second Career program is open to all laid-off workers and job seekers. Priority is being given to individuals who were laid off in one of the sectors most impacted by COVID-19 (e.g. hospitality and food services, transportation and warehousing or wholesale and retail trade) and want to retrain for jobs in sectors that have good potential for future employment. Apply for up to $28,000 for costs including:
Tuition
Books
Manuals
Workbooks
Other Instructional Costs
Transportation
Basic Living Allowance (max $410/week)
Child Care
We can help you navigate the application process of this Employment Ontario retraining program. Learn how to gather the necessary information to inform your decision-making and to put forward a solid application. Attend a Second Career webinar or contact us for more information.
