Tariq Ismati was the keynote speaker for DRUHC’s 37th AGM.
In 2017, Tariq Ismati came into the Pickering Welcome Centre asking: “What do you have here for people like me?”
Tariq is someone with an extensive professional background. He is an accomplished public and humanitarian sector executive with experience leading public sector policy implementation and community development delivery in Afghanistan.
Tariq became a client of the Pickering Welcome Centre, participating in Job Search Workshops (JSW) and the TRIEC Mentoring Partnership (TMP).
Tariq is now the Regional Director, Eastern Region, Employment and Training Division with MLTSD.
We are grateful for his perspective on the Ministry’s current priorities – EO Transformation, Skills Development and Apprenticeship – as well as his insight on the theme of Resilience in the midst of challenges and changes.
Tariq started his presentation by offering gratitude to the team at the Pickering Welcome Centre where he stated that he “started his very first step of planning for a career in Canada.”
