Durham Region Unemployed Help Centre
The Region understands that a diverse and inclusive workforce supports innovation and creates leaders in the community. These information sessions are designed to encourage Black college and university students to consider the Region as a place to work and grow through the Summer Student Program. This Program provides students with a great opportunity to gain work experience and develop career skills that will support the transition from post-secondary education to future full-time employment. Students will work with experienced professionals to develop technical skills and competencies, expand their network, and learn about employment opportunities available within the Region after graduation! Staff from the Region’s Income and Employment Support and Business Affairs and Financial Management divisions, with support from Human Resources, are hosting virtual sessions to provide information on the following: specific criteria for summer students, job application portal, hiring process, summer student positions currently available
