Tire and Lube Tech / Apprentice Technician

Location: Ajax

Number of positions: 3

Work Hours:  8 AM – 6 PM Monday to Friday; 8 AM – 5 PM Saturday; closed on Sunday

May be required to work some Saturdays

Pay:  $15 – $18/hr. – depending on experience

Start Date: Immediately

Benefits (Yes/No?): Yes – after probation period

Main Responsibilities:

·        Set up vehicles to go up on a hoist

·        Remove and replace tires

·        Balance tires

·        Lube oil and filter changes

·        Vehicle maintenance inspections

·        Over a period of time, learn online tire and product knowledge

·        Tire repairs

Number of Years of Previous Experience Required: Having worked in a shop would be a definite asset, but employer will provide training to the right person.

Medical Requirements (ie. vaccinations): Covid protocols in place – no specific requirements

Someone with a definite interest in the automotive business. Excellent opportunity to learn and excel. The owner has 50 years of experience in the business and is very enthusiastic about sharing and supporting the right candidate.

This job entails heavy lifting (tires and rims) need to make sure that the right person is capable of lifting 40-50 lbs several times a day.
