Main Responsibilities:
The bus driver is responsible
for safely operating the school bus in a regular
daily routine. He/she is responsible to ensure that
the bus is in good operating conditions at all times,
safely pick up and drop off children according to
schools’ schedules, and obey all laws, rules, and
regulations when on the road.
Job Requirements:
Drive school buses to transport children between schools and centres or on excursions Ensuring safety and well being of students to and from school and/or field trips Maintain control of student activities during travel to prevent distractions or behaviours that could compromise safety Perform daily maintenance checks Perform minor maintenance duties such as filling up wiper fluid tank.
Education Required: Completion of secondary school
Completion of a ministry-approved School Bus Driver Improvement Course
Class B and/or Class E driver’s license
Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Current Standard First Aid and CPR level C
Clean abstract
Medical Requirements (ie. vaccinations): as per community standards
