Location: Job sites all over Durham Region
Number of positions: 2
Work Hours: Full-time (40 hrs./wk.) – mostly 8 am – 5 pm Weekdays, 8-hr. shifts (daytime – flexibility)
*Rainy days off but time made up – Occasional weekends
Pay: 20/hr. minimum for inexperienced applicants (general labourers and/or apprentices)
$21+/hr. for experienced labourers (depending on skill set)
Own Transportation Required: Yes
Main Responsibilities:
- Take direction quickly and with accuracy; apprentices will be supervised and be expected only to have basic skills
- Measuring all kinds of dimension and materials; learn how to follow blueprints, drawings and schematics, eventually
- Clean-up site and keep it free from debris
- Follow and implement all health and safety measures and work site protocol – wear proper PPE, as requested
Job Requirements:
- Punctual, dedicated, takes direction well from senior staff
- Professional carpenters give instruction; apprentices take direction
- Willingness to contribute to team — following didactics
- Accommodating time lost due to bad weather with team
- For apprentices and general labourers, basic literacy and numeracy in the field — ability to do practical math
- For professional carpenters, intermediate literacy in the field; language, communication and practical math
