The federal government has implemented a suite of new income support benefits, including adjustments to the Employment Insurance (EI) system, to address the ongoing economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the end of the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB).
If you need financial assistance after your CERB ends there are some temporary changes to the EI program to help you access EI benefits. These changes will be in effect for one year.
If you were receiving CERB, you may be eligible for one of the new recovery benefits retroactive to September 27, 2020 and available until September 25, 2021. Find out if you qualify.
